		Team Excel members successfully trained for and completed the 2011 Murfreesboro Half Marathon and/or the Music City Half Marathon in October and raised over $3,000 to support the work of Love Helps, inc.!

		Coach
			Dean Baker, RRCA-certified running coach/ISSA-certified fitness trainer, led the team through 15 weeks of training, preparing our walkers and runners for completing a half marathon, for some their first!

		Kick-off Meeting
			Team Excel's summer/fall journey started at the 2011 Kick-off Meeting in June where participants received their training materials, some training tips and learned more about how the work of Love Helps, inc. was helping children in Nashville.		Click for photos

		Group Walks/Runs
			Team Excel members worked on their individual training goals during the week then met on Saturday mornings at various locations in the Nashville area for longer group walks/runs from late-July through October. Tips were offered. Encouragement was given. Stories were shared. And, goals were reached, including those of first-time walkers/runners.		Click for photos

		Pre-race Dinner
			After all the training, Team Excel members gathered at Amerigo in Nashville for dinner before the big race. Members were encouraged and received their last instructions before the big race.		Click for photos

		The Races
			All of Team Excel's training culminated at the 2011 Music City Half Marathon in Nashville, TN on October 2nd and/or the Murfreesboro Half Marathon held on October 15th in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. All Team Excel members who started the races finished them, and many PRs were set!		Click for photos

		Post-race Party
			After the race, Team Excel members met to show off their medals, share their stories, and have some great pancakes prepared by Cindy Baker, team photographer and chef!		Click for photos

		Fundraising
			In addition to walking and running, Team Excel members raised over $3,000 to support the charitable work of Love Helps, inc. Funds raised by team members help children in Nashville by supporting programs of Love Helps, inc. that encourage literacy, student achievement and positive character building!!
