		Team Excel members successfully trained for and completed the 2011 Country Music Half Marathon in Nashville in April and raised over $12,000 to support the work of Love Helps, inc.!

			Dean Baker led the team through 14 weeks of training, preparing over 25 walkers and runners for completing a half marathon, for many their first!

		Kick-off Meeting
			Team Excel's journey started at the Kick-off Meeting in January where participants received their training materials, some training tips and learned more about how the work of Love Helps, inc. was helping children in Nashville.		Click for photos

		Group Walks/Runs
			Team Excel members worked on their individual training goals during the week then met on Saturday mornings at various locations in the Nashville area for longer group walks/runs from late-January through April. Tips were offered. Encouragement was given. Stories were shared. Friends were made. And, goals were reached, including those of many first-time walkers/runners.		Click for photos

		Pre-race Dinner
			After all the training, Team Excel members gathered for a wonderful pasta dinner before the big race. Prizes were given out. Members were encouraged by the words of Brian Wade, marathoner and pastor of Belmont Church, and they received their last instructions before the big race.		Click for photos

		The Race
			All of Team Excel's training culminated at the 2011 Country Music Marathon and Half Marathon held on April 30th in Nashville, Tennessee. Over 25 Team Excel members successfully walked or ran the course joining over 25,000 other participants, along with thousands of spectators, at one of the largest such events in the United States! 		Post-race Party
			After all of the training, after all of the effort of completing the race and after a little rest, Team Excel members met after the race to see photos of themselves at the race taken by our team of photographers, share some good food and fun and tell their stories about their big day! 		Fundraising
			In addition to walking and running, Team Excel members were also engaged in raising funds to support the charitable work of Love Helps, inc. Over $12,000 was raised by team members to help children in Nashville, supporting programs that encourage literacy, student achievement and positive character building!!
